  1. Sometimes, I have been very childless about having children. When I get that kind of grumpy, it is difficult to kick against things that are too late to do anything about. When it is no sacrifice to accept what is really supposed to be a good thing that makes life more fulfilling, it is usually good with the wife and children. When the marriage breaks, the relationship with the children often is broken if they choose loyalty to only one parent. When a parent is divorced, do they also stop having the authority to be good authority figures or teachers too? Do not put too much Biblical intensity on those public school teachers in their jobs.

  2. I remember reading 800/1000 pages of Christian Science literature because of my infant son and also 300/1000 of Luther's Works readings, especially because of my newborn that quarter son. I whiffed on the assignment, but I aced the midterm and final of a Lutheran Reformation course. Every child forces an optimization on behalf of the child that really forces others to go hang. It is a parent thing. Graduate students do that often.
