There are people who think that dog parents are more virtuous than parents of human children. The dogs are supposedly more sympathetic with the desires of the parents. Once the human children individuate, the parents think they become strangers and have stopped doing what they wanted. There are those who think they are souls in the prisons of their bodies. It's a gnostic heresy. There are libertine gnostics and ascetic gnostics. When those gnostics have their battle, it's a spiritual fight over the dominance of a person's soul behind the cartoons on TV, I suppose.
