Jehovah's Witness has been saying "pestilences" would be more present in the future for over a century.
(Luke 21:10,11) "There will be great earthquakes, and in one place after another food shortages and pestilences;"
Further, they dedicated an entire issue of the Awake to pandemics. The cover story for the December 22, 2005 issue of the Awake is entitled, "The Next Global EpidemicâWhen?"
Under the article "Could It Happen Again?" it reads:
"AS WE look back, the era may strike us as quaint, even appealing. For example, in the Western world, it was a time of horse-drawn carriages, top hats, and long, trailing skirts. But it was also a terrifying time when death was on the march worldwide. The cause?"
"It was not war, although the war was then raging. No, we are speaking of another scourge, one that has been called the most destructive in all recorded human historyâthe Spanish flu, or influenza, of 1918-19."
"Victims died en masse, for there was no effective treatment or cure. Millions of healthy young people were suddenly cut down during their most productive time of life. Corpses piled up faster than they could be buried. In some places, entire towns and villages were wiped out."
"All this took place some 85 years ago. Do we know what caused that disease? Could a calamity like that occur again? If it did, could we protect ourselves?"
"There is another fascinating aspect of this subject. Did you know that the Bible long ago had something to say about the pestilences we have seen in our era? (Luke 21:11; Revelation 6:8) Was the Spanish flu part of a fulfillment of Bible prophecy? The following articles will discuss the answers to this and other questions."
The article "The Worst Plague in History" goes into great detail about the 1918 Spanish flu. The following, "InfluenzaâWhat We Know Now," provides information about influenza and its characteristics.
In the final article in the series, "PandemicsâWhat the Future Holds," notice what it says under the sub-head, "The Threat Continues."
"On May 19, 2005, Reuters Alert Net warned of the continuing appearance of new flu viruses, adding that these "pose a continuing and potentially growing pandemic threat." The Wall Street Journal of the day before said: "The bird-flu virus currently active in Asia is known as H5N1 and was first spotted in Hong Kong's poultry markets in 1997. It is unusual for its virulenceââit kills as many as 80% of those who catch it." The virus can reportedly infect people who come in close contact with infected animals."
How did the Witnesses know this before Bill Gates and others? Jehovah God warns people what will happen in the future through his Word, the Bible.

@SatekoTheMaster Many people believe that. However, consider the following few things.
1. Hebrews 3:4 reads, "Of course, every house is constructed by someone, but the one who constructed all things is God." What does that passage mean to you? Would you say, "the existence of an orderly universe containing life points to a Creator?" The logic is simple. However, many well-educated people find it to be powerful.
2. Humans are born with an innate desire to understand life's meaning and purpose after meeting their physical needs. Jesus called this a "spiritual need." (Matthew 5:3) It gives evidence that God exists, but it also shows that God is a loving creator who wants to satisfy that need.
3. Detail prophecies recorded in the Bible centuries ahead came true precisely as described. For example, through Jehovah's holy spirit, Isaiah wrote about Babylon's fall to the Medo-Persians some 200 years before it happened. Isaiah chapter 4 and verse 1 names the person who would do this. "This is what Jehovah says to his anointed one, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have taken hold of To subdue nations before him, To disarm kings, To open before him the double doors So that the gates will not be shut." People make a big deal out of those who have rightly predicted the future (as this video shows), but the Bible's track record of success for prophecies coming true as described is unparalleled.
4. Bible writers had scientific knowledge beyond their understanding and even the scientific thinking of the time. For example, Moses wrote in Job 26:7 God "[suspends] the earth upon nothing," which was counter to the ancient belief that various animals such as an elephant, a boar, or an ox, supported the earth. And Isaiah correctly described the shape of the planet. "There is One who dwells above the circle of the earth," or sphere of the earth. The reasonable conclusion is that Isaiah and Moses knew these things because they received their information from God.
5. Many turn to experts for financial, marriage, and other advice. Often the information becomes obsolete or out-dated. Yet, the Bible continues to remain relevant to this day with the advice it gives. The Bible answers many difficult questions that others simply cannot. When a person does not receive a satisfactory answer to life's biggest problems, it can lead a person to become agnostic or atheist. For example, a person may ask, "if God is loving and all-powerful, why is there suffering and evil in the world?" or "Why is religion so often an influence for evil rather than for good?â" Titus 1:16 reads, "They publicly declare that they know God, but they disown him by their works because they are detestable and disobedient and not approved for good work of any sort."
