  1. In the 80s and 90s, people who were into games were often unpopular in school and typically bullied. Getting into computers and games and finding others who liked those things created a sense of community and friendship that the "popular" kids denied them. Today, those same "popular" types are into gaming. They have large social media followings and make a lot of money off something that used to be the realm of geeks and nerds.

  8. Our first family computer was a 386-DX/2 66 with 2 MB RAM. I was a gamer so my parents purchased Wing Commander 2 with it. The game felt incredibly fast compared to all the neighborhood kids still using 286 machines.
