@CoolPapaJMagik I think the idea of justice is old-fashioned and outdated. And morally wrong. These killers need to be locked up forever but not murdered by the state.

michael evans Correct. And the idea of an eye for an eye, is ancient and barbaric. The idea of justice as retribution, is ancient and evil. We need to reform our whole philosophy about what to do with criminals. And it doesn't involve giving the state power to kill its own citizens.

@jackadams3878 the idea of Justice is ancient and needs to be rethought. And at this point it cost more to execute someone than it does to keep them in prison for life.

@slthjawa5062gggghhjjjjjkkkk just because in physics there is an equal and opposite reaction, doesn't mean we need to respond automatically the same. What about thinking? What about doing the right thing? What about not retaliating just for the sake of feeling good? Should thieves hands be cut off? Should rapists be tied down and have broom handle shoved up their asses?

@jackadams3878 we don't need justice. We don't need to get even. We need to separate dangerous people from society. We need to remove killers and rapists. We need to rehabilitate all those others we can. We do not need to get even.

@jackadams3878 just because I'm only the one pointing out that our idea of justice is one of revenge and payback, doesn't make it invalid. And you skipped number two. Third I'm not a bleeding heart, I just don't think we should give the state a right to take any life except in self-defense. Lock these fuckers away.

@jackadams3878 the most important issue here is whether or not the state has the right to take a life. I don't believe it does. I don't believe in the idea of justice. We can lock the fucker up and keep him from hurting anyone else.

@LeRoyBoxley434 you think he deserves to lose his life because he took a life? Should all crimes be punished likewise? Thieves should have their possessions stolen by the state? Rapists should be raped by state actors? Drunken drivers who kill other motorists should be forced into fatal car wrecks? Eye for An eye? Everything has to be exactly the same as what happened in the first place? I don't think that makes any sense anymore.
