Well, we shouldn't have scuttled the talks in Istanbul.
26
Appeasement? We lost the war.
26
@ethancoster1324 Eh, no. Back then Kherson and Zaporizhzhia would have stayed with Ukraine and Russia will get that veto one way or the other anyway.
14
@ethancoster1324 First, you are referring to the offensive in summer and fall of 2022, so you already got the year wrong. Secondly, Kherson Oblast is still not liberated and never will be. The Russians hold the left bank. Lastly, I'm talking about the Istanbul talks. Back then Russia only demanded Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk. By now two more oblasts have been added to the demands.
7
And here we have the explanation for why Russia refuses a ceasefire and wants to go straight to a peace settlement.
7
There is no other plan. It'll happen one way or the other.
7
@jimg2850 Oh sure, they are really exhausted. You can tell by the twenty kilometre breakthrough around Pokrovsk from two weeks ago. As for your secondary sanctions, all the BRICS states have already told the US to piss off, they don't care and we've tried military help for three years now and Ukraine keeps losing.
6
@criert135 Which is of course why it's Ukraine that is running out of men.
5
@NoNo-p8l Isn't going to happen anyway. Russia has a veto on those.
5
@Error-mn4el Well, not anymore, as we can see today how it fails to bully the BRICS-states.
4
@Lewa500 No, he is the only one who is slowly, very slowly, moving towards reality and peace.
4
@BigBoiiLeem Oh, did people help Czechoslovakia to fight a war back then?
3
@mariuspuiu9555 Well, I'm not sure what Russia is supposedly loosening, but it for sure won't be their demands, considering they are winning.
3
@руся_0 You can't even put enough men in all your defensive lines, which is why the Russians had a 20 kilometre breakthrough two weeks ago. Who are you kidding?
3
The Europeans looked like children called into the principal's office. Anyway, we are slowly inching towards Russia's demands, but we aren't there yet. Give it another year and we'll be a little closer.
3
@trigovai6258 The same they said about Bakhmut.
2
@socire72 Nonsense.
2
@Who-rx5ky Yes, and? I ridiculed someone saying that Russia was failing to take Pokrovsk. I told him that the same line of argument was used with Bakhmut and we all know where that ended.
2
@Josh-ks7co If the clear differences are staring you in the face and you can't see them that's your problem.
2
We are used to it since Biden.
2
@ethancoster1324 True. Russia's record of getting tricked by the West in Ukraine should be cause of pessimism, I agree.
2
@ethancoster1324 It doesn't matter what you think, it's what they were saying at the time.
1
@captainvanisher988 You have just restated my point. Good for you.
1
@criert135 Western media is apparently Russian propaganda.
1
@inwalters So it's not appeasement then. We lost the war, end of story.
1
@руся_0 Is that why you don't have enough man to put on the front?
1
@vt20247 That doesn't make any sense.
1
Of course it doesn't make sense. Europe and Ukraine aren't trying to achieve war, they want to ensnare Trump in the war.
1
@inwalters No, it wouldn't. A) We don't have the weapons and B) Ukraine doesn't have the men.
1
@inwalters Your fallacy has been noted. Now riddle me this, if you were making that argument in 1917, when would you say WW1 would be ending?
1
@jimg2850 Yeah, it did?
