  1. Merz is just a balloon of hot air. The reason he's acting tough is because he knows Scholz won't do it and he thinks he can score points that way. If he were in Scholz's shoes he wouldn't be doing anything differently. By the way, so we are clear. He didn't issue an ultimatum. He blustered about how Scholz should give one. Not that he expects that to happen, he just wants to position himself as the next chancellor in 2025.
