"Which is absurd considering the frontline is at a stalemate." I guess the reporter forgot that there is a two month old Ukrainian offensive underway that hasn't achieved anything of note. There wasn't supposed to a be a stalemate, but as it turns out Ukraine simply doesn't have the strength to reclaim the 1991 border. Well, nothing came out of it it seems like. Perhaps it will dawn on them eventually that demanding Russia's unconditional surrender is not going to get them anywhere.

@Broodplank86 Sure, if you want to gamble the survival of the Ukrainian state on this, be my guest. Ukraine doesn't have time on its side, because they are completely dependent on financial and military aid from the West and their patience does run out eventually.

@nigelleyland166 Don''t you feel embarrassed writing that? This is the same story people wrote in March last year when the war started and oh look at that, those "conscripts" with no food and ammunition have repelled the Ukrainian offensive so successfully, command must be wondering why they even bothered creating all these defensive lines if the minefields are apparently enough.

@francispeter8169 Yes, and I remember that it wasn't the pullback of forces from Afghanistan that doomed the USSR, no matter how much popular belief wants to pretend that Afghanistan is some sort of graveyard of empires. As for your wait and see approach, what am I meant to see see and what am I waiting for? The point at which the Russians were supposed to run out of literally everything has been moved back and back by the media. Well, hasn't happened yet and by contrast the USA is now delivering cluster ammunition because they don't have any regular shells to send anymore.
