This is just historical revisionism. NATO-expansion despite constant Russian warnings is at fault.

@Amradar123 They did not have a mandate to bomb away, only for a no-fly zone.

Stoltenberg admitted that this war is fought over NATO-expansion, because they couldn't accept that Russia said no.
1
@Chris-pf8by The war in Georgia should be explanation enough, not to mention that NATO is building a missile shield (threatening MAD) that can be quickly converted to offensive weaponry. Which would absolutely be extended into Ukraine. Ignoring that these countries on Russia's borders tend to catch a case of colour revolution before they apply to NATO. Not that it matters, it matters only if Russia feels threatened, not if you think it is.
1
@stephenhill545 Untrue. They screamed bloody murder every step of the way.
1
@Blanka1100 Eastern Europe's voice is just America's anyway. As for Ukraine, trying to bring them into NATO earlier would have just meant that Russia would have moved in earlier.
1
@Blanka1100 Poland (if I am taking the Kaliningrad border seriously) joined before Putin became president and Lithuania is too small to actually house enough military to seriously threaten Russia. Russia still complained about it. Secondly, America sponsors coups and colour revolutions in countries that aren't "NATO-friendly" enough to ensure that they'll join, just take a look at Ukraine. NATO-enlargement is the cause of this war, even Stoltenberg admitted it.
1
@Blanka1100 You are lying, NATO made it clear in 2008 that Ukraine would join NATO. No ifs about it. As for plans to hurt Russia, read the RAND corporation report on how to extend Russia from 2019. Lastly, don't fool yourself, Russia was no threat until after NATO expanded east.
1
@Blanka1100 You are delusional, that is plain to see and you refuse to take a look at geopolitical realities. Ukraine got couped by America and Russia understood what that would mean. It is that simple. So stop infantilising the situation with this madman Putin theory you have absorbed by political talking heads.
1
@Blanka1100 Which is of course why Ukraine fell into civil war after the American backed coup.
1
@Blanka1100 We have an intercepted telephone call showing how America planned to form Ukraine's government following the coup. Joe Biden was literally installed there as overseer of the country. We have policy proposals of American think tanks detailing the plan that was carried out. That is the "matrix" I'm living in while you believe in the real world where America is innocent of any wrong doing ever.
1
@Blanka1100 Right, I'm the one in the matrix, even though I can point to telephone calls, NATO summits, think tank policy plans and American politicans that were installed in Ukraine, while you just repeat the mantra you got from the news.
1
@Blanka1100 What does the Rand Corporation have to do with RT? Or Joe Biden, Bush jr, Victoria Nuland? John McCain? You don't have actual facts to lean on, so you resort to smearing, but that is typical of people like you.
1
@Blanka1100 When you don't have facts, smear. Don't you have arguments?
1
@Blanka1100 Jesus Christ, what does that have to do with Ukraine, the coup or the war in the east over NATO enlargement?
1
@Blanka1100 None of that has to do with NATO-enlargement causing the war.
1
@Blanka1100 Russia did to prevent NATO-enlargement into Ukraine, because America was blatantly working towards it, even couping the government to make it happen.
1
@Blanka1100 Russia did it, because America was blatantly working towards NATO-enlargement into Ukraine.
1
@Blanka1100 Russia invaded because of NATO-enlargement, which was announced in 2008.
1
@Blanka1100 Yeah, yeah, the madman Putin theory. He invaded because he felt like it, not because America, fully knowing what it was doing, was preparing the groundwork by literally removing the government of Ukraine.
1
@Blanka1100 Russia invaded because America removed the government in 2014 to prepare for the enlargement they announced in 2008.
1
@Blanka1100 They weren't allowed to even do that, they didn't have enough votes. And yes, they did so for a reason, and that was the allied interest of America and the nationalists.
1
@Blanka1100 They weren't allowed to do that as they lacked the votes and by doing so they broke the agreement that was struck between all parties, including Russia.
1
@bonnie7898 Yeah right, keep telling yourself that. As for the other countries, because expanding wars is almost always a dumb idea, duh? You also ignore that none of these countries actually pose any threat to Russia, except for Poland that only borders Kaliningrad (nice obfuscation there by the way) and that joined in 1999.
