In a normal war, I might agree with this video. But from the Ukrainian point of view to leave it's people under Russian control would be unthinkable. To cede land to Russia would only encourage them to invade again in 8 years just like they did 8 years in the past. I also think it is assumed there would be a stalwart defense of contested land by Russia for months. I would say it is just as likely it will crumble in a matter of weeks. To be fair, the Ukrainians may decide after months that they are too war-weary to continue. Even the best military will get to be that way. But the first three reasons I listed I think will give them much greater resolve than in a 'normal war'.

@helmaeijck4246 Yes that is a sign. I think it doesn't bode well for Russia even without that. But we have already seen Russia's capacity to take punishment. I want Ukraine to do what they think is right. I'm sure inflammatory actions to put some Ukraine soldiers on trial won't help Russia's cause. As it dawns on many Russians they don't have the moral high ground they thought, discontent will grow from within. Russia may be highly motivated to seek a truce right now. Ukraine has no such incentive.
