  2. The US discovered they depended too much on the Middle East for oil a long time ago. It is an easy trap to fall into. If you can't supply your own energy resources, at least diversify the sources you do get them from. Domestic coal, Nuclear, LNG from the US, Gas from Russia, etc. Be able & willing to go without them in times like these. Also diversify heating appliances as well. Not all gas, coal fired, electric.

  5. Very nice Enforcer Matt. I think there is some solace to take about a Russian launch even of the tactical kind. Part is the joke about Russian maintenance which alone should help the rest of us sleep better at night. The likelihood that a break in the 'human launch chain' in Russia makes me sleep even better. Even if there is a launch it is likely 'gremlins' would cause even more failure. You can talk about human launch chain failures in Russia, those are apparent. I won't speculate on gremlins.

  6. Oh I'm sure they will only have the Black Sea fleet destroyed . . . Maybe the Baltic fleet . . . Maybe allow pilots to volunteer for service in Ukraine & give them immediate 'air cap'. But look at their track record. No matter how badly they shoot themselves in the foot, they do trend to pull the trigger.

I'm sure it will be on an escalating scale. You really have to wonder why F-22's were moved to Poland afterwards.

  10. I don't think it will happen this way. But it is obvious 'Priggy' is getting protection from the FSB as their 'replacement guy' for putin. Whether they wait for elections next year, or move faster. Wouldn't it be interesting if Surovikin is held to help him? I think it would be more fitting if General Armageddon is treated brutally but I wouldn't count out other possibilities.
