If by empathise you mean understand, then yes. If you mean have personal associations or feeling sorry, then no. They only cry out now because they are touched personally. Where was their empathy in the 1st & 2nd Chechyan wars for those mothers & wives, on both sides for that matter. S. Ossetia? 1st Ukrainian invasion? Syria? They were probably sitting at home cheering on 'Da Boys' on state media. Only now, when they are touched does it make them cry out. No empathy at all.

Well . . . The numbers do matter a little. It makes a bigger pile of orc corpses to haul back to orclandia. There is in battle a 'force of numbers' factor. Which has a slight impact in this war. But you can really saturate the battlefield only so much before it works against you.

I'm sure it will. Maybe even soon. The AFU is negotiating right now with the orclandia ministry of aggression & making great progress. Soon the orcs may gloriously regroup all the way back home. LOL!!

@slavaukraini404 Very simple. The AFU is negotiating with the russians right now very successfully. One more offensive should topple the garden gnome in the Kremlin. The next 'monster to be' will be very apologetic about what was done & they will withdraw from Ukraine.

@Oheng75 It is hard to have empathy for a population that stands by meekly as their government has a blood lush orgy every few years. I understand why the new recruits drink themselves into stupors waiting for the end on the front line. I have no sympathy for a population that sees themselves as helpless against their own politicians. They made their bed & they can lay in them now.

Old habits die hard. In soviet times, you didn't worry about the NKVD knocking on your neighbors door to drag them away at 3 in the morning. You only worried when they came to knock on your door at 3 am. It is bred into them over long periods of time even before the soviets.

I don't know why all these guys run & hide. Their families with get a bag of turnips. This is a chance for them to go help putin with his vision of 'россия мир'. A vision most of them were cheering for 6 months ago on state tv. Now is their time to go show the Ukrainians what they are made of . . . Literally as their body parts are blown all over the battlefield. No wonder they need vodka to numb reality.

In the past this would be true. The protest in St. Pete & Moscow were furtive grounds for mobilization. Probably still less percentage that the rural areas but their isn't much difference now.

@janejones8672 Many of the trolls are US, Canadian, & European. It just takes someone that wants to make 35ȼ (or equivalent) per comment. But there is a way to get russian interested even in them. Not conscription, but their are ways.
