Probably very true. In WW2 Industry was mobilized & subsidized by the government. Now, if XYZ ironworks in Canada starts expanding it is a huge risk for the stock holder. At the very least (and rightfully so) they need to receive an advance order for the product with money in advance. Imagine if XYZ spends half a billion expanding & Pooter is tossed out by mutiny the next day? No continuing order, no governmental guarantee. Just half a bill in debt.

@jounisuninen We are. And to a lesser extent we aren't too happy about the current administration for almost starving Ukraine for what we did give. But mostly Republicans. Us support (and a few other countries) has been a circus freak show from the begining.

@trentriver Even a worse monster than putin would be very contrite & wanting to make amends to the world. It would stop very quickly and take year to consolidate his power. The reason they should continue anyway (except that isn't how companies work) is to replace the depleted stock piles around the world. It is a terrible financial burden the just the company to bear.
