  1. Russia isn't trying to find excuses . . . They are just explaining to their citizens that fighting Aliens, people from Middle Earth, & time travelers from the future will need the Russian army to regroup. LOL!! With many more attacks like this where Russia completely destroys the enemy, Russian may become the preeminent 'regrouping' army in the world. Russians don't need to make excuses. Any fantasy is possible in Russian World.
