  1. The lovely dream of Peter the Great was always a bit of a sham. I'm sure there was some naval battle in the 19th century the russians won handily. But the russians generally have always keep the grand fleet sequestered in home ports during war. The only action it saw in the Great Patriotic War was limited to some submarine attacks.
