@timonsolus You are kinda forgetting about the human launch chain. With as much intel as there was about the UA invasion, how many more there to stop the command from ever reaching the missiliers? I think it won't approach 600 and russia knows it. China know it is toothless & that is why they are building up their nuclear forces.

It has been made clear on back channel phone calls that the West would consider any accident of radiological nature would be considered as bad as a tactical weapons strike. In either case tactical or accidental the Black Sea fleet would be gone (yes, even in russian ports) and a no fly would probably be set up. They can start taking the negotiations already started to reduce nuclear arms seriously or they could pay dearly.
