  1. That would be one way to get out from under sanctions fast & the stigma. A break up would have to be done without allowing China to grab some land. I'm really not sure how you would do that. China has already made territorial claim on Sevastopol. And they may smell blood for more with a break up. Interesting times we live in.

  2. I see the media still saying slow & steady on the offensive. I think you will see many different styles of fighting. Some may turn tail & run. In other Russian forces may put up stiff defence to the point of being surrounded. And so on. I suspect there may be an overall fight until they crumble one day. As much as many units would do when they run out of things to shoot. I would be very careful about lumping the fighting into one big category.

  3.  @dubsar  Agreed. But I'm saying it is a balancing act. Matching Oblasts, Krais, and other federal districts into some patchwork nations wouldn't be easy. Many tribal scores to be settled long suppressed by the USSR/Russia. Access to the ocean (which couldn't be done in all cases). Etcetera would all be complicated by China.
