@buschtaxi75driver55 There would be many great benefits to trade & travel. Some drawbacks too. EU is almost like an ala cart you can choose some of what you except. Ukraine may be a preeminent military power & may setup alliances of it's own instead of NATO.

There is no emergency admittance or should there be. Ukraine is partitioned by conflict already. Ukraine itself was saying not to push for NATO before Feb 24th so they wouldn't have done anything emergency for fear of russia reacting. In the 4 (I think) applications for Ukraine to be admitted should they have before 2014? I would say not. Corruption wasn't as bad as russia but was still pretty bad. They still have work to do but it is far better than it was in 2008 when they first applied. If Ukraine becomes whole again, they may choose to apply again. There is no fast track to joining. And they may see little benefit in the future anyway. The security agreement from the past may be wildly expanded. I do see benefit to joining the EU & there may be some to joining NATO. Depending on what happens.
