I don't think they are very fearful of russia in any capacity. I would be less fearful in their missiles & a branch of service they never use, seeing how incompetent their conventional forces are that they use all the time. The reason they hesitate to send more systems to Ukraine is they are conducting back channel talks with the russians about many things including nuclear arms reduction. These talks are very important & they don't want to upset the apple cart.

@thedausthed Critics will tell you the russian government never gave a time limit on invasion. But of course, state media said it several times & they don't say anything that isn't state approved. Many troops on their way to Kyiv were given 3 days supplies. And captured trucks were loaded with decorations for a victory parade in Kyiv soon. So . . . Yeah. LOL!!

@Nick_S0 Also right now, Ukraine can say they beat the russian forces. With a little help from friends. Imagine orc embarrassment if this continues to be the case. If NATO steps in it would 'water down' a Ukrainian victory. So no need for NATO to get involved at all.
