We have to guard against economic downturn eroding support. And this will be much harder than it sounds even with a moderate slow down. But we must keep up a constant pressure on politicians on how important this is. With any luck at all, any expected recession will be light & not noticeable at all.

I think we have seen enough of putin to know he has been wishy-washy of late. Him prepping the home crowd for a 'not so glorious victory' shouldn't be surprising. This has been echoed through state media too. Even if the drum beat is muted, it is growing louder.

@daneaxe6465 Biggest hats of all is Belarus. Those guys whip around to look at a loud noise at a parade & they will take out a whole viewing section. They have beach umbrellas above their heads.

@jounik Must have been hell trying to chose which side in that case. And if you didn't choose, both would hit ya. I can't imagine being a part of that decision making.

@jounik I know a little. I should read more. A classic example of being 'between the Devil & the deep blue sea'. I agree the decision was made for them.

@dont-want-no-wrench But there is that pesky problem that he would have to withdraw to 2013 border. I agree that much earlier this should have been tried back to 2021 border. But the oligarchs has been promised so much in Ukraine. They probably would have sought to have him replaced. In an 'Orcish' way, he played that right. Pulling back to 2013 borders would be a death sentence to putin now. No one likes a weak leader in russia.

@jilbertb NOOO!! The perfect way to spark nationalistic pride in a country that could do some serious damage in Ukraine. The Orcs seem all like big jokes to us now but you don't wanna be taking out there leadership. Their nukes are less than useless but they have other mean to wreak havoc. There are certain things that will 'stir up their hornet nest' and you don't wanna do any of them while they are busy screwing up.

@laszlozoltan5021 Oh it would be great if the weak loser putin would withdraw from Ukraine totally. Other than that, why negotiate with someone that breaks all promises & would only use the time to build strength for the next, more brutal attack? Let the AFU negotiate with the Orcs for a peace that will guarantee russia won't attack a small neighbor for generations to come. The AFU peace deal is the real thing.

Manpads have a service ceiling & anti-aircraft beyond that can be coaxed out to be destroyed. You may not see F-16s above the trenches right away but that will change.

Putin doesn't feel paranoid for no good reason. Now at least. He was before the war. But NOW he has very good reason. LOL!!

Not at all . . . The FSB, Duma, Military, etc removes putin & installs their own 'monster to be' that immediately asks for a cease fire so they can withdraw which will be granted with condition. And the great Orc army kicks itself out. In fact, this it the very scenario I expect to see. No glorious regrouping they just evaporate back into russia. Maybe even in time to help the expected invasion of China into the far east of russia. If the Chinese still have the stomach for it.
