  1. Jake, I think you will find many sanctions will stay in place for years to come. Assuming putin will be replaced by then (very likely) the next 'monster to be' in the Kremlin won't be known for years to come. Many of the sanctions will be lifted, many won't. We will get some feeling after 5 years about the newest Tsar. But only a good track record after a decade or so. They might be able to sell natural gas in the EU again but only at a reduced price until much of the reparations are paid. Sanctions aren't like a light switch you turn on & off. France won't be effected by the renewal of the USSR. Maybe Macron could negotiate will all parties like German, Poland, Romania, and so on, about how much territory they give back to russia. Since Macron seems so intent on peace at any price. Hey!! Macron could play the part of Edouard Daladier!! LOL! Female version of Tsar is Tsarina.
