  1. The problem with the topography theory is, the highest point they plan to pull back to is only about 10 meters higher. Your color mapping in southern Kherson is skewed. AND it is a coastal plain that is gentle rise from the river. There is no advantageous 'high ground' there. I think if you go further East there are some low hills that are also a gentle slope. I believe this may be the only (or best) option they may have if more land is lost. But there is no 'I hold the high ground' for some distance. The most important thing for the Orcs (whether they can hold or fall back) is to NOT give up the Western approaches to Crimea. I know we all think of russians as morons in military planning. But they can see this. If Crimea is even approached, putin may be replaced by circles of power in the kremlin if not suffer another mutiny. Check out the topographical gradient lines.
