@TremereTT They have an advantage in equipment. Unless they call for a general mobilization, they do not have an advantage in personnel and their larger population won't matter. The Russian military being used to absorbing more punishment, isn't an advantage at all that I can see. They are burning through their 'volunteers' from Luhansk & Donetsk right now. You have a right to your opinion, but others might see it differently. Bringing in T-62 tanks isn't a good look for them.

@TremereTT BTW there is excellent ways to swarm a convoy even with the newest tank & make T-62s work. Shelling towns will only strengthen Ukrainian resolve & turn the world against them even more. I would stop that immediately.

As a US taxpayer all I can say is . . . Finally!! A good use of the money I pay out!! I have never been more happy to pay taxes in my life!! Too bad rather than a check box to contribute $3 for Presidential Elections they don't have discretionary choice box.

@TremereTT And T-55's & I assume T-34's as well. Bringing up smart use of tanks, maneuvering, overused barrel life, maintenance, etc are another weak point the Russians have. Mothballing old equipment is done but the old stuff has to be maintained.

It is the equivalent of drivers jingling car key behind windshield to confuse state trooper radar. These myths just don't work. The little bit I dealt with targeting systems (when I worked) it is possible that a GPS guidance system can have some radar acquisition capability. Even a ground attack missile. But I think Russians are just throwing anything they can in desperation. Under some conditions, a radar spoof would work. But not these reflectors which do nothing.

@tonupharry The US can handle both (said like I'm sure). Countries reducing defense budgets in a dwindling apparent need happened all over. Including the US. Now in the case we are burned to a cinder in a Chinese conflict. I will hold you to fighting for what is right & you will have to kick funding defense into high gear then. Wouldn't hurt to start now. 🙂

I tend to catch 'Good Times Bad Times' when he/she has a video out. Then Jake & others daily. GTBT has stunning graphics & explains the situation well. Dern! No wonder they only post weekly or less it is really like a professional production. Which means nothing except a 'gee whiz' factor. But it is excellent content also. See for yourself when you have spare time on YouTube.

@Simon Simoney Despite what you may hear, the military doesn't use cutting edge tech much. They prefer tried & true stuff. Now all the new missile systems & vertical lift stuff may be different. Even the F-35 was designed . . . Was it 10 years ago? There is some dependence on new stuff but a lot of the military would run on the 486 just as you say. And it is quite good if not taxed too much.

Seems like it is time to use a few M30/31 rockets to drop bridges across all river crossings between Ukraine & Russia. And there are a lot of them that haven't been touched. Talk about logistic bottle neck. And on the overland crossings with no bridges, you can always find a choke point to destroy the road. Since there aren't likely to be an vacationers or cross border trade, Ukraine won't miss them but the Russians need those badly. Destroy crossing with Russia & Belarus seems to me like a no-brainer.
