@InternationalAcres I think you miss the point. Border control has been a problem for 40 years & this won't solve it. And using Ukraine (or support for any ally) as a bargaining chip is a huge mistake. You don't try to push an issue (that the Reps actually have no intension of solving anyway) at the expense of flagging support. Imagine what the other allies must be thinking right now? Estonia, Taiwan, and whoever must wonder about the help the US gives.

They probably will around election time. It is so strange about border control. The Rep base depends on the cheap labor & brings and a lot of Hispanics are Rep. So there is no serious effort to get rid of it. In fact the control that Reagan set up was torn down many years ago. But even if they had a good point, you don't use an issue that has a clear right & wrong to it as a bargaining chip for something that doesn't.

@sergeykorostelev7510 2 squadrons of F-16 would be very scary. That is why the russian officials have made so many threats because of them being sent. It isn't so much the F-16 itself but the suite of NATO weapons it brings.

Apaches, like all other attack aircraft, wouldn't last long where every field has shoulder launched anti-aircraft. It is a shame they are slowly supplied with what they ask for when they need it now.

Like the fortress sieges of long ago, trench warfare will go on for a long time. Day to day & monthly nothing will seem to change. Then one day, one side will simply collapse. Not all advances are in big trouble but there is no big areas taken either. When it does move, it will move very fast & not on the battlefield.

@paulgibbon5991 It isn't very logical. But, a self defense organization shouldn't be getting into wars just to free said country so they can join. Ukraine itself said don't get involved but do send the help. Which we seem to fall flat on also.

I doubt Kyiv will become a capital of russia or Ukraine will even grab part of russia as a buffer zone. I doubt they want the administrative nightmare.
