  1.  @anhkhoanguyen8562 You have a great point. I would only add that the US + other countries already have submarine patrols around Taiwan now. And they have surface ships passing between the two but these are probably just to irk the Chinese. They would not have a chance to 'ring' Taiwan in a blockade. China only has a fleet of noisy submarines to counter with.
