  1. Looking at themselves, russia is very 'centrist' on their world. Visiting a few times this is very apparent. Studying geography (for a simple example), all countries are referred to in context to russia. When they refer to Los Angeles being on the east coast of the US & NYC being on the west coast is very confusing. But when you see them looking eastward from the center of russia, LA is on the east coast & looking to the west they see NY city on the west coast. Russia being the center of the world is the way they look at the rest of the world. In geography, history, politics, etc, etc. What is worse, there is no consistency. A change in politics will suddenly be the way it has always been done. And of course, they all know it has changed but they seem to mindlessly follow along.
