Trump's plan was to stop funding Ukraine. But he didn't want a large crowd of Ukraine supporters on the streets of DC in his first few months of taking office. As much as you may hate him as president, he is a pragmatist. Part of his bringing both side to the table may yet be shutting down support to Ukraine.
