  1. This is incredibly misleading as it assumes only one scenario of nuclear war: Land based mutually assured destruction with 100% ground burst detonations. The next use of nuclear weapons against the US would likely be air burst that targets a carrier strike group at sea, in Europe it would likely be strategically placed tactical nukes against military, not civilian targets, in order to reduce the chance of retaliation. Also, the theory of nuclear winter has already been proven highly unlikely, again due to air burst detonations; and the global south will be mostly untouched.
