Thank you so much for this short presentation of the subject about general Kazimierz Pulaski, the hero of TWO continents. I am a Polish Canadian, and I am a history guy by passion, not University education. By the coincident, my former Elementary School in Warszawa, Poland, located in Praga Polnoc, on the right side of the Wisla river, was named after general Kazimierz Pulaski, and he was a patron of our Elementary School, where his memory and tradition was maintained very well, even during the communist era in Poland (1945-1989). >> One day, I would love to visit Savannah in Georgia, to pay respect to the Polish hero born in Warka, south from Warszawa. Warka region and local brewery originally was the property of Pulaski's family. These days, they are still producing there a very good beer, called "PULASKI". In the upstate NY it is a small town called Pulaski, located on the Eastern shore of Lake Ontario.

One of the latest and longest tactical usage of traditional horsemen cavalry units in the regular army fights in the field, actually happened on the territory of the Second Republic of Poland, at the beginning of WW II, in September - October of the year of 1939, when Germany together with Soviet Union (CCCP) they both attacked POLAND from every possible directions, without delivery any diplomatic notes. They were both the acts, of the barbaric attacks by surprise, exactly both similar to the later on of being performed by the Japanese Imperial Forces, on the Pearl Harbour in Hawai !!!! >> So later on in the Spring of 1940, the massacre of the Polish officers the POW's, done by the Soviet NKVD special killing units, happened in Katyn and Ostaszkow. it was the consequence of this Soviet surprise attack on Poland from September 17th, 1939, and then their cleansing of the representatives of Polish national intelligence and intellectuals.

Whata story, eh ?? A nearby place where I am living in Canada, Ontario, around 25 km from my place., it was a POW camp for the German officers, mostly pilots of Luftwaffe, and U-boats commanders from U-bootwaffe of the Kriegsmarine. Once, it was a riot of the POW's there !!!! I do not know the actual reason for it. >> Moreover, it is an interesting very much fictional story, which was published in 2010 as a novel, written by American author Charles McCain from Washington, DC. It is a story of the German officer, U-boot commander, who was being captured in Atlantic battlefield and sent to the POW camp located in Texas. It is a very interesting story about his service at the sea, and then his attempts to escape and to mingle inside the society of the United States of America. I can recommend everybody who likes the subject of this video, to read it !!!! The title of the novel is": >>>> "An Honorable German" <<<<

Rick and the other sons and daughters of the American WW II heroes in Europe and Pacific theaters of war .... your fathers were actual heroes of that world ugly conflict .... and they were desperate to FINISH it ASAP and go back home !!!! Second time in history, the boys & girls from the American Army had to take care of the European front, to smash the German armies and finish that prolonged another war !!!! >> The war which started on the day of September 01st, 1939 @ 04:45 AM, with the ride of the german diving bombers called Stukas (Ju-87's) over the small Polish town of Wielun, and killing the majority of its people during the time sleeping in that early morning. Another place was shelled from battleship "Schleswig-Holstein" at the same time of 04:45 AM It was a small Polish military garrison of almost 200 soldiers on Westerplatte, which was located in the FREE city of Gdansk (Danzig). The most heroic defense against Germans it took place inside the free city of Gdansk, when german SS military units and city german Police force .... they attacked together, in the same early morning, the Polish Postal Headquarters Office. The basically military trained postal workers resist for 17 hours the furious attacks of the german artillery, machine guns, flame throwers, and SS soldiers, supported by three armored cars, etc. They gave up when Germans pumped gasoline into the basements of that strong building of the Postal Office and ignited it. First with a white flag, came out from the door a civilian director of the Polish Postal Outlet, and he was instantly shot by the rifle bullet from distance. Second, appeared with the white flag at the exit door his co-director, and he was instantly covered by fire from the german flame thrower !! The third appeared the woman with a small daughter .... and then the rest of the workers. To end this story from the beginning of the WW II, I can only tell you, that later Germans anonymously killed all of these Poles in a couple of weeks, near the city cemetery. Their bodies were found by coincidence 80 years later, during the construction of the modern building in Gdansk. AMEN. >> This is a link to Museum of that Polish Postal Outlet >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWB4r1htwIs
