What surprised me most about this, is how many people in the comments have met people who either believe in a flat earth or question accepted scientific fact. I've never met such a person. I don't know anyone who knows anyone who is such a person. I've never met anyone who's even heard of someone who is such a person. Is it possible the only place on earth where there are no flat earthers is the north of England? 🤔 Now that's worthy of reaserch!

@Krugis pretty damming analysis. I must admit, America is pretty baffling to foreigners. Lots of contradictions. I'm a lover of history. It seems a standard belief in the past that America and Americans held democracy sacred. It was madness to see a huge percentage of your population support a compulsive liar who wanted to overthrow your system of government. Another one I can't fathom. Your supposed to have separation of church and state. I don't think there is another democracy in the world which is so intermeshed with religion. Nobody would bat an eyelid here in England if a politician said he or she was an atheist. i doubt the same is true in America. Very confusing country. The science denial is scary. I suppose it does explain a lot though. :( I feel for you

Your comment is difficult to read, but I'd like to reply to the spirit of it. Rather than focusing on the confusion created by the language... Simply put. Lie detector tests have huge problems. They are not admissable in courts of law across the globe for a reason. .even if you could get a flat earth person to take such a test. The results would be of no empirical value whatsoever

Ironically, many of them come from countries where they don't go to highschools. Very few of them are from my home country (England), for which I thank hell. But The ones that do exist who were educated here. May have graduated our school system, but as we don't have high schools, well they wouldn't have graduated high school. For example. I have graduated university. But I have never even stepped foot in a high school.
