Probably shouldn't slap it too hard. If french cars are anything to go by, a turret will fall off!

I can't imagine Fisher would want these things no matter how low the price

@StCreed your comment about the Ardennes... The French knew a tank attack was possible. It'd been war gamed in the 30s. But due to the political situation in the French army/government. It was sort of quietly hushed up. Your note about the American army stopping an attack through the Ardennes is utterly ridiculous. The attack made by the Germans in the winter of 44/45 is in no way even vaguely comperable to the attack in 1940. The force differences and situation couldn't have been more different. It's like comparing apples and Hitler's mustache. Such comments really don't belong in serious historical debate.

@screamingnutbag7955 you've obviously got a good basic understanding of the battle of France. But your understanding is VERY shallow. You should look more into the situation in the armed services of the 3 major combatants in the 20s and 30s. Forget who has the biggest gun and what armour is technically immune to what tank. It's largely irrelevant. Look at the ergonomics of the vehicles and how they were deployed, how they were used and how they were supported. For example. You might be interested to know that not only were the French tanks an ergonomic nightmare. But a large number of them were sent into combat in 1940 without their main guns! The logistics and supply situation was a travesty. The ergonomics issue wasnt unique to French tanks. But going into battle without a main gun was.... It doesn't matter if a Panzer 3 can't penetrate the frontal armour of a Char 1B, if the Char hasn't got a gun to shoot back with.

The effort put into this video is clearly incredible. Fantastic video with incredible detail. And yet a third of the comments complain about an apostrophe in the title. Make's me feel violent.

@CThyran the fleet was for show and it did look amazing. It's a shame there are no true colour photographs of the ships on their tour. It was a bit embarrassing that the ships were showing off how far the American navy had come... By touring the world in armoured cruisers and pre dreadnaughts, several years after Dreadnaught had launched. Though I do wonder if the point was more to impress counties that didn't know better 🤔 I've always wondered why else they'd have kept the thing going for so long (the trip didn't finish until 1909!? Superdrednaughts were coming online by then!)

Given that in this era, the aim was still to cross the enemies T and bring a broadside to bare... Kind of spoils your point there. But bravo for the sentiment. Anyone who knows anything about history knows the French have a impressive history. I mean, sure they could have saved some time and just built the RN free ships. And forgone the pointless exercise they called battles. But otherwise. They still have a largely positive history in war. Going back to the Gauls. But French cheese eating surrender monkey jokes. Are just funny.
