To all the Americans here. I'd like to point out that over here in blighty we have MUCH older ships. Some dry docked. Some still afloat. All seem much better looked after than the US look after Olympia and Texas. And the UK has seriously limited room compared to the US. Our waterways are incredibly crowded (at least any where it'd be worth having a museum ship). We also have a tiny fraction of the money the US has in its budget* I realise we measure our history in thousands rather than hundreds of years. Maybe the UK public has more interest in naval history. I don't know. But I can only imagine how annoying it must be for you guys to know you spend billions on your armed forces every year. And yet you can't properly look after a few priceless bits of history. Regardless of which party you support. It must be infuriating. * (I'm not going to talk about national debt. I dont understand the US situation, nor have the interest in modern politics to learn lol)
