He's mentioned a few times his sources. The answer is largely books, magazine/periodicals and the historic dockyards prime sources. Life before the internet :)

Are you by any chance American? 😂

Not perfectly round. But yes. Well known designs. There are a number of guides on this channel about them.

The question had nothing to do with how much a ship contributed to a war effort. Just what would he personally want to save.

Given it's a patreon question... He kind of has to. The whole idea is based on the premise that you pay to have your question answered. He'd soon have no patrons if he chose which to answer and which to ignore. Though I really wish he wouldn't read out word for word, long questions that are more about the questioner showing off what knowlage they have. Than about the question itself. 🙄

Any proof of this? Seems very far fetched...

If rather see less questions answered than reduce the quality of the answers tbh. I dare say it won't be long before only patrons questions are answered... I'd be fine with that. He should be paid for his work

Pretty sure the British government would just nationalise the merchant navy at that point. Even if it meant conscripting crews into the RN to serve on them. That would void your theory very quickly. But it was a good thought and I see where you were going. But national need would quickly overcome such an issue.

I've read the first paragraph of your post a dozen times and can't make head nor tails of it. Are you saying there is a theme park filled with ships already? I'd very much like to visit such a place!

Just a note on Churchill.... I love him as a historical character and as a true hero of his time. However. When reading anything his wrote you do have to take it with a big pinch of salt. He had a way of writing a great quote and be damned to accuracy. His quote implys he had no greater worry. His other writings suggest plenty of bigger worries. It's more likely that "my greatest worry was that the US wouldn't enter the war on out side". Wasn't quite as good a quote lol

Question: have you seen my requests for a WW2 collaboration? I'd love to see a ww2/Drach' special...
