  2. I think that may be a bit of a warped takeaway. If it were ignored then there would not be so much effort put into making aircraft better for the environment. As for necessary. Well for modern man you could argue that air travel is "necessary". From a quality of life point of view. Of course all that is really "necessary" are water food and shelter. But we aren't cave dwelling people anymore.

  3. Capitalism is the worse form of economics. Apart from all the others. End of the day, we are pack animals. There is always going to be a pecking order. Better it done with money than with war or throwing excrement at each other 🤣. Trying to think positive. The richest nations tend to have the most strict laws about pollution. Look what the Soviet Union did to their own environment. Also thinking another way. "Not bothering because of 2% cost" does sound horrible. But there is a saying in engineering. The last 1% takes 99% of the time. (Time being money). The 2% may really not be worth it if the time and energy taken to achieve it, is better spent elsewhere. Side note. 30% saving on fuel sounds amazing. Any links to articles about propfans. I'm a bit of a geek for engineering and would love to learn about them.
