I googled it. "Unconditional surrender grant" isn't a joke. It seems that was actually a name the historical figure had. I love the way oversimplified does this. Historical facts and Easter Egg fun in the narrative. Brilliant.

@The_whales just shows there's always something new to learn. To someone who has no interest in a foreign countries civil war (as it's has minimal effect on the history of my country and continent), the 'name' sounds silly and made up. But obviously it's neither and is intact an interesting insight into the war.

Fun fact. The American civil war isn't featured at all in the history curriculum of most countries. So this is a great way for us (in my case in the UK) to learn what happened in the American civil war. :) Classroom teaching only has so much time available so this is a great way to touch on history which is very much fringe/less relevant to people outside the effected country. I wish I had short videos like this when I was at school to teach me narrow context when studying world wide history.

The google grey area.... I mean I genuinely thought unconditional surrender grant was just a joke in the script. But I googled it and it's actually a thing...... So putting jokes in an area that's something you want to Google is ruddy brilliant.
