"Luxembourg, IN EUROPE" - a sentence only an American would say. 😆

Lack of historical knowledge here is so sad that it makes the joke not funny. Side note. The similarities between the empire of Great Britain around 100-300 years ago has so many parallels to American history that it really proves the mantra 'if history is ignored your doomed to repeat the failures of the past' I just hope the us learns about economy management better than the BE did.

Let's let him off. He's American. They don't understand history

But the channel was a pain for the UK in ww1. The effort of sending men and material across the water and wounded and those on leave back was mind boggling.

@jamesbond1231 as an Englishman who has relatives who saw the Holocaust (though in the aftermath). I offer my good thoughts to your family. I also understand your frustration. We have a robust news service that covers the entire political spectrum in the UK. All of them report on what's happening in the USA. Always have done. The effects of trump were reported in the same way. So I can only try to understand how terrible it must be to be the defendant of a Holocaust survivor and listen to the lies of a modern day despot who rules your country. I like to live in hope. I have studied Nazi Germany and it's run up from 1870-1946 my whole academic life. And my hope comes from the knowledge that the trump lies could be countered thanks to free media. If we were in a world with 20/30s communication. Then god help what could have happened. All the best to you and your family. Stay safe

@jamesbond1231 well if they are worse than trump. Let's hope they aren't re-elected. Trump was the closest thing to Hitler we've seen in the west since ww2. If they are worse than him then I'm sorry for you all. Have they opened concentration camps yet?

@jamesbond1231 we've had the census here for hundred of years and its just what it is. Actually. It was important to making sure we had a fair electorate. I don't follow the new much. What I've seen of trump us him saying things that are just insane. Or him deflecting a question and replying with something like "I'm smart. I know all about that. I'm right". Which is an argument a 5 year old could have won with. The Reichstag was almost and I say almost because sources don't show us the Nazi hierarchy actually admitted it. But by reading such seminal texts as the rise and fall of the third Reich (WS). It's obvious that it was planned and pirpitueted but the Nazis. I didn't have a clue what you meant by the capital riot stuff..new to me. I looked it up. I doubt trump planned it. If he did it would have worked. The very fact that you have so many extremist groups in the us who want to bring down your government..... Well.... That is what's scary. And God knows trump was very good at stirring up hatred. Swap the Jews for Mexicans and the picture presents itself. I hope to god that doesn't happen here.

@0:50 the United Kingdom IS NOT a country. The hint is in the name. It's united more than one kingdom. And it's made up of 4 very very different countries.

@5:09 .. millennia of human history.... Disagree. 500 years is the blink of an eye. For a kickoff. The nial would like a word 🤓😅 Edit... Ok. Us point of view. Of course

@RetailThrone indeed. Though I have to ask. Why all the text pictures? Edit: my text picture suggested I was amused and found irony in the original statement.

@gdclemo that is exactly my point. Only Americans seem to do this. I've often wondered. Is there something missing either in the American version of English. Or in the way American people think. That requires an explicit distinction. A friend of mine mentioned another example yesterday. Americans say "the president of the United States of America". Not "the president". In England if I said "the prime minister" then everyone would understand I meant the prime minister of England, NI, Scotland and Wales. If I meant a PM from another country then it would be taken for granted that I would specify. In the case of this video. There is no need at all to "clarify" that it is referencing a country and not a place in another country....... ...well there is no need to anyone I know who isn't American. So I'm back to wondering. Why do Americans and only Americans do this? 🤔 If anyone knows a good channel on entomology and the differences in English language across the globe, I'd appreciate a recommendation.

@sir_sack things like this do matter though. It's interesting. It's why intellectuals posit and answer questions. Such people are way smarter than me..so I'd love to know of there is an answer.

@Biblestudies658 not a serious one I hope. If your in England, don't worry. You can get treatment for free (sorry, couldn't resist).
1
@sir_sack I thought I was being clear? Hence the long and detailed replies.
1
@sir_sack well if you want to explain what you are talking about. I'd happily reply.
1
@Biblestudies658 slightly confused as to whether you died reading my comment. Or you died because you don't live in England. Either way, as you are dead. I offer your nearest my condolences... Should they read my reply that is. Rest in peace.

Wow. I didn't think that such a short comment could contain so many things that are wrong. I mean. Wow

@karleatskibble6165 irony: the comment below yours points out the main one. Not sure how that could be a joke?
