@off6848 here in the UK.... Anyone really. I mean it's not going to be a career. You'd have no job security. All that results in the usual problems of low investment in equipment. Poor work hours and or pay. Hardly inspires the work force. I mean if you were paid badly and knew 100% that your job is going to disappear. What's the insentive to do a perfect job?

Oh heck. Do other countries really think we talk like that? Even assuming you mean English and not British. It's still scary thinking that's what people think we sound like 😅.

"hard to get hold of here in the US". Bet it's still easier than in the UK lol. Just trying to buy something like this would get you a very long stint at her majesty's pleasure (prison).

I assume because you've never met anyone from the British isles 😂 Nobody talks like that unless it's on TV.

I don't think favouring home industry at the cost to the end user/tax payer is just a British thing somehow.

@Zlonk7 I guess that's the dilemma. Spend more on a better product and be accused by the media of wasting money. Or save money and end up with problems that can cost lives. Rep sticking seems to be something of an English sticking point. One of my cars has a Rover K series engine in. Had huge issues at first with failing head gaskets. Inspite of being a world leading design. Got lots of power and was super light. That's all people remember. I built mine with a later series designed head gasket and it's bomb proof reliable inspite of years of abuse on race tracks. I take the kettle jokes in good humour. But nobody makes ringland jokes about my skyline or missfire jokes about my brother's golf GTi. We really do pick on our own 😂

@Zlonk7 so it's really a stereotype that's stuck? Maybe this channel could cover that story 🤔
