  3.  @andersjjensen  But of course! Most high schools had a rifle range, often in the basement and even today many schools still have shooting sports as part of their curriculum. Football, soccer, baseball, trap shooting, target shooting, cross country running. At least in civilized parts of the world (AKA countries using ASA and C) Colleges of course add handgun target shooting to the sports, being age 18 and over. https://time.com/longform/high-school-shooting-teams/

  6. If I want to shoot full auto, I would simply drive to almost any US state and either rent one or ask a friend to let me shoot their machine gun. Rock and Roll (fully automatic fire) is way..way too expensive though.

  8.  @KSmithwick1989  detonate a nuke that was designed for max emp 200 miles over the center of the USA..and it will shut down most of the power from east to west coast. It will blow most of the high voltage transformers (all custom made with a lead time of around 3-5 yrs for replacement). It likely not kill a single person..though it may crash some aircraft as the electronic flight controls die..but if the planes have hydraulic backup..but most fly by wire aircraft is now falling objects. The problem...no national power for industry.

  9. Too bad its not done much for the mass knifings, the crime rate thats higher than even New York City and whatnot that has claimed the UK. Ive a lot of emigre Brits as friends. They come here, buy guns, get CCW permits and swear they are never going back to old Blighty.

  10. Really? Mexico ring any bells? LIke the UK..they have banned guns from most of their population. Yet they have one of the highest murder rates in the world..as do many of the UK nations in the Carribean and so forth.

However..if you simply Google homicide rates by country..you will find the US is #124 from the top of the list..with most Caribbean nations far higher. In fact..most nations with heavy gun control is way above the US.

  14.  @HingerlAlois  Our state of Pennsylvania..only one of 50 states... fields 600.000 deer hunters each deer season. There are an estimated 600 MILLION firearms in America, which has a population of 320 million people. So we can pretty much equip every man, woman and child with 1.75 firearms. There are an estimated 2 TRILLION rounds of ammunition in civilian hands at any given moment. Even in the "guns are bad" states... there are millions of legal arms. They simply dont talk much about what they own to their neighbors.

  16. mollerch  I need a concealed weapon daily to protect myself from bandits in my work environs, as I drive a service truck filled with very expensive tools, in areas with a very high crime rate. Does that get me a Concealed Weapons permit in Sweden? I carry either a 9mm or a .45, and fill both with jacketed hollow points. Does that give me extra credit? And yes.. I have HAD to present a firearm against attackers..I really do need one. 6 times in the past 30 yrs.

The 2nd Ammendment was placed right after freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and freedom of assembly. It is the foundation of all other rights. It has never been amended, nor will it ever be. Btw...America is a Constitutional Republic.. not a Democracy. If you had a clue..you so far.. have not demonstrated a single bit of it. The Government of the US.. is actually older that that of the UK, as welll as most of Europe. Seems you know little. Sadly.

  19.  @voiceofraisin3778  Some truth to that...but...if you can see the front sight..you can hit your target. Even from above the rear sight..lining up the front sight with your targets center of mass gives you a decent enough aiming ability. You are not shooting for the collar button on the left side of his chest..you are shooting at the center of his chest. There have been a number of "modern" shooting techniques taught in the past 40 yrs that emphasize the front sight in combat shooting and largely ignore the rear. They do work, and well enough.

In many places in the west and east... it costs more to take a deer or elk than it does to buy meat at the grocery store. vehicle costs, firearms costs, tags etc etc. The old days of saving that special deer on the farm for first day of hunting season is unfortunately long gone in most places. Sigh.

  30. I have..and have used the 375 H&H on big game..Grizz and elk. Works just fine. I also cast for it..works good on yotes and bunnies with a LOT less recoil.

  32. Btw...Im 6'3" with a 18" neck, 48" chest and a 38" waist. At 67 yrs old. I cant pick up (2) 50lb bags of dog food like I used to and carry them into the house..but..I can come close. And you?

Same old driller and the same old shit". i did 9 yrs working seismograph (5 countries)..work over and drilling rigs. 12th grade in HS..was working morning tower on a triple. They thought I was 20..I was 16. Graduated and went into the military. Got out..went back to the Patch for a couple yrs. I cut pulp in highschool. Ski Patrol. Competition archer..Ive done physical shit all my life. Was a deputy for 8 yrs... raced motorcycles.. jumped out of perfectly good airplanes.. rode broncs and bulls.. Had a PRCA card till I was 47.. Shrug. So yeah ..I guess I was a bit different than a lot of guys my age.

  35. If you purchase a modern black powder firearm..a copy of something made before 1891..and you have to licesnse it..that sucks. Here in the US..I can order a modern copy and have it shipped directly to my home, no permits, fees etc etc. And as many as I want. Personally..I have at least 7 black powder firearms or copies, or firearms made from kits, handguns, rifles and shotguns, and at least another 5 original black powder firearms..all made before 1891. 2 of which are cartridge firing firearms..all designed for black powder.   40. I purchased one about 1984is. Wonderful rifle, shot very very well. My son needed expensive surgery so it and several equally loved rifles got away from me to pay the bills. Ive always regretted letting go...sigh.

But the high Soviet death toll was largely Stalins fault.. sending unarmed troops against the Germans... with NKVD troops with machine guns shooting slow runners in the back.. wasnt the fault of the Germans, is a perfect example of why Stalins mindset killed so many Russians.
