Over the last 100 years, Republicans have stood up for African Americans while Democrats not only stood on the sidelines, but in fact served as obstructionists to civil liberties.
Here are at least 12 examples in which Democrats voted against African Americans, and Republicans voted to free them:
Democrats voted against every piece of civil rights legislation in Congress from 1866 to 1966 – a whopping 100 years. That is a dismal record for today's Democrats who would like you to believe that history has been on their side on this issue.
It hasn't.
Democrats voted to keep Africans Americans in slavery, opposing the 13th Amendment which officially freed the slaves. Only four Democrats voted for it.
Republicans also passed the 14th Amendment which granted slaves U.S. citizenship; Democrats voted against it.
Republicans also passed the 15th Amendment which gave slaves the right to vote. Not a single one of the 56 Democrats in Congress voted for it.
Shame on them.
Furthermore, Republicans passed all of the Civil Rights laws of the 1860s — including the Civil Rights Act of 1866 and the Reconstruction Act of 1867 following the Civil War.
The Republican Party itself was founded as the "anti-slavery party" in 1854. The party subsequently gave us President Abraham Lincoln and ultimately, the Emancipation Proclamation which led to the liberation of slaves.
Republicans supported African Americans not only in the 1800s, but in modern times as well.
In the 1960s, with the exception of Democrat President Lyndon B. Johnson, who was instrumental in the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Act in the wake of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, the truth is that Democrats were the largest single blockade to civil rights.
But don't take my word for it.
Long after slavery was over, the Democratic Party continued down their path to deny African Americans their rights. Wikipedia refers to this as the era of "disenfranchisement" when "Democrats worked to exclude blacks" from civil liberties.
PBS reported, "The Democratic Party identified itself as the 'white man's party' and demonized the Republican Party as being 'Negro dominated,' even though whites were in control."
The Democratic Party was responsible for passing Jim Crow laws, in addition to Black Civil Codes that forced Americans to utilize separate drinking fountains, swimming pools, and other facilities in the 20th century.
Even Democratic icons such as Kennedy voted against the 1957 Civil Rights Act while in the U.S. Senate. Sen. Al Gore, Sr., D-Tenn., also opposed it.
But you don't hear the "antifa" movement or anyone else on the Left talking about Democrats' shameful involvement in American history, nor do many speak of Republicans' brave work on behalf of African Americans.
President Dwight D. Eisenhower, a Republican, appointed Supreme Court Justice Earl Warren who penned the Brown v. Board of Education decision that ended school segregation forever.
It was also a Republican, Sen. Everett Dirksen from Illinois (the "Land of Lincoln"), who wrote numerous pieces of legislation including the Civil Rights Act of 1968 which banned discrimination in housing.
It was Republican President Richard M. Nixon who introduced the "Philadelphia Plan" that serves as the blueprint for affirmative action today.
It was Republican President Ronald Reagan who in 1984 signed into law the holiday now known as Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
That's right, these were Republicans — not Democrats.
As more "antifa" protests are expected this summer and into the fall, leading up to their night of hell planned for November 4, it is vitally important that revisionist history is not permitted to be foisted upon Americans.
The truth about who was on the right side of history and who was in the wrong lies in the voting records and those records lie in the National Archives and the Library of Congress. No amount of statue-toppling nor spin from the Left can ever erase it.

while I live in very similar country in Central California.. one of the big differences between Texas (the parts in the video) is that in Texas, a lot more people live out on the farms and not so much in the towns. So they are only coming into town for groceries, fuel and government. When they take a weekend off.. they leave the area. I live in a small town in California (Taft) that grew up in the middle of the oil fields. It too is a dying town. Not laid out like Texas, the oilfields tended to keep the people living closer together because it doesnt have as much agricuture. Though Bakersfield is fair sized, we live in the 3rd largest county in California (Kern Co) .. and we have some mighty big ones.. the county population is only 800,000. The town I live in was the heart of Standard Oil until the 70s, when the 1 mile by 1 mile complex was shut down. There are 2 small small towns within 7 miles of Taft, one has less than 50 people living there, the other has 300-400 at most. From that point.. closest town is 40 miles away. At one time.. the population was... 90,000 in the area. Today its lucky to be 18,000. The 1987 Oil Crunch, when it cost $15 a barrel to get the oil out of the ground.. but was only selling for $7.. killed this town. Its been slowly gurgling and gasping its way to a very slow death. Sad. I like it here. But Im now 69.. and want to leave here.. just cant afford to do so.

@gavinalin5956 I "have to realize"? That is utter buffoonery and typical Leftist BS. "Goldwater was one of just six Senate Republicans to vote against the bill in 1964, while 21 Senate Democrats opposed it. It passed by an overall vote of 73-27. In the House, 96 Democrats and 34 Republicans voted against the Civil Rights Act, passing with an overall 290-130 vote. While most Democrats in both chambers voted for it, the bulk of the opposition still was from Democrats."
You seem to forget that the longest serving Democrat Senator was Robert Byrd..who died only 4 yrs ago..while still in office..a leader amongst Democrats and IRRC..Senate President..was a Grand Kleagle of the KKK. Democrats may not "openly" STILL support the KKK..but "you have to realize" that Democratic policies are still racist and still promote seperation of the races. One only has to look at Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton to see one side of Democrat racism, and Clinton, Gore Sr, George Wallace, Bull Conners etc etc as the other side of your parties racism. You Democrats have been trying to rewrite history for generations.

You people are utterly without ethics, morals or moral fiber...and a huge number of you are blind, stumbling mentally ill sheep who will follow anyone who can tickle their fantasies. This is the reason there is a STRONG return to the Republican Party by blacks and other minorities. Black women in particular are quitting the Democratic Party and becoming Republicans once again. There will be No Democratic Party in 20 yrs...as your policies and extremism is driving normal people away enmass. Deal with it..and be honest..if thats possible for you.

@GaryArmstrongmacgh Over the last 100 years, Republicans have stood up for African Americans while Democrats not only stood on the sidelines, but in fact served as obstructionists to civil liberties.

What makes you think that the Right will allow the country to be divided? All that is required...is each Conservative pick out (1) Liberal./Leftist/Progressive, take down the ol deer rifle, and go out and shoot that LIb/Prog/Leftist. That might take...humm.. a week? Collage professors, MSM talking heads and their handlers, Government workers, Congress critters etc. No more than hummm..100,000 dead people..and the rest of the Leftists would either shut their mouths..or head for Canada. Though I hear Venezuela is nice this time of the year. Its not like many important people would have to be terminated...shrug. Just a small fraction of the population, all removed by the People armed with their civilian arms. No need for jets, tanks, fighter aircraft etc. The shock and awe of watching their fellows getting their shit scattered because they were Leftists..would cause the rest to simply shut their mouths. True..they may die a secret Leftist..but monitoring them over their careers...would prevent them from spewing the Leftist party line to the kids. Same with the MSM. Make it illegal to lie as a broadcaster. Huge fines for the networks, prison times for the talking heads. Yes..inevitably.. there will be scores settled...shrug...war is a dirty business. But with a bit of forethought..the entire execution could be handled within a month at most. The shock to the survivors..might be a bit tough on them..if they cant live without fellow Leftists to complain about the Constitution and the Right over the copy machine is too much for them...we can give them a plane flight (one way) to any place on the planet. We could even give them a parachute or actually land to let them out. It would be easy peasy, cheaper than hell..quick to pull off and would provide minimul upset to the infrastructure and the nation as a whole. We can make it an official holiday.."The year they killed the Leftists" or perhaps "Leftist Extermination Day" or even "Restoration of the Constitution Day" and every year we can swap lies about how many Lefties were killed, and BBQ and drink beer and toast each other on restoring the Founders goals and wishes. What more could one ask for?

@pxlcowpxl6166 There are "political enemies" and then there are "treasonous political enemies". A political enemy who plays fair..despite disagreeing with you is good politics. It helps keep up your A game. A treasonous political enemy that commits wide spread voter fraud, murder, assault, arson, and approves of totalitarian actions against you..is a "enemy of the Constitutiton, both foreign and domestic". We have lost our freedom of speech, our freedom of the press and gained corrupt and dishonest elections, rules and regulations directed against their political opponents. There is a reason the Democratic Party has been bleeding voters away like a severed artery. Smart, honest Democrats are fleeing the corrupt mess that the Far Left has turned the Democratic Party into. Its been said repeatedly in the last few years..that the Democratic Party be dead within 15 yrs, as it commits political suicide in public with the video cameras and lights shining. From my point of view..as a 65 yr old veteran/business owner(In Kalifornia), Life NRA etc etc... Im exceptionally tired of watching the Left doing everything in its power to destroy the Constitution..to turn the US into a Marxist/Socialist state..with the People the Lumpinproletariat..and them in total control from their pinnicles of power..true socialists..a small group of masters over the masses. Very very much like Hitlers Germany. Im very much a student of history....the parallels between 1930s-1945 Germany..are frightening. They are also much akin to the USSR of the same time period....less the purges..mostly. Conservatives..be it a Conservative Democrat or a Conservative Repub...largely believe in the same things. However..the 40 yrs past where the Hard Left has taken control the the Democratic Party, the Deep State, the schools and universities..and many many cities...is coming to an end. They are now violently desperate to keep the power that they have gained..and they are doing everything in their power to keep control. Its not working...but it will drag on and on and on. Better to simply doze them into mass graves and let the Democratic Party go back to being the Loyal Opposition, rather than enemies of the Constitution. Shrug. I have no problems with Constitution loving Democrats. I do have a great dislike for those that march to the strains of La International and consider themselves to be your and my masters. No matter their names..Pelosi, or Strom, Obama or Hitler..they are still enemies that need to be at best, hooked to plows..at worst..hung by piano wire. They ..the Hard Left...will do that to you...for a lot less. Best to simply take out the trash once and for all in a short period of time and get our nation back.

same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it
is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to
provide new Guards for their future security..." - THE DECLARATION OF
INDEPENDENCE. (1776)

as a life time liquid lantern user.. 1. Fill. 2. Pump. 3. Stick in a match, 4, open the valve slowly. 5. When flame is established, open valve to light level you want. The only difference between kero and white gas/unleaded.. is the "air valve" on white/gas lanterns..which is akin to the choke on a car. The reason the kero lanterns go out immediately.. is flame temperature. You may not be able to see it but on the screen its quite significant. The white gas lantern burns MUCH hotter with little soot and it burns quite "white", while the kero lantern burns much cooler with a more yellow flame. When running any lantern on unleaded gasoline, it will soot up a little more than kero, but not as clean as Naptha (Coleman fuel). Gasoline is the cheapest fuel by far. However.. gasoline will gum up if it has any alcohol in it. If you can find pure gasoline (and I use Aviation gas, about 7.50/gallon ), it will last up to 5 or more years in storage. But it will.. will..over time, go bad. Naptha on the other hand.., will store forever. Literally. It never goes bad and will outlast the sun (Grin) If you can find a 5 gallon can of industrial naptha.. its very cheap, around 50 bucks . Coleman/etc has a huge mark up on it, shrug. I hit a lot of yard sales and estate sales and always buy any partial cans of Coleman/etc fuel. Most often people will completely ignore these cans and I get them very cheap. Bring them home, and simply combine partial cans into a good gallon Coleman can., I keep at least 10 gallons of naptha on hand at any one time, and have cans that were purchased 50 yrs ago that are still good. I have at least 15 lanterns of various types and sizes and at least 4 stoves, from single burner micro stoves to 3 burner suitcase stoves. I should also mention that Naptha is available at any hardware/big box store in the paint department. Its used as a solvent/cleaner for paint brushes etc etc and can..can.. can be had cheaper than a gallon of Coleman fuel. Just saying...
Propane is Ok.. but it burns cooler than naptha. If you run a propane device, get the hose attachment so you can run off a 5 gallon bottle..a BBQ bottle and it will last a fair amount of time. The other advantage of propane, is the hose attachment "tree" can be used to fire a lantern, a stove etc all at the same time. And like naptha..it lasts forever. As you noted.. its not as cost effective as naptha, but if you have the space..it works well enough.
The single issue/advantage of any flame burning lanterns is heat. When running.. they are hot. Not so good in the mid summer, marvelous in deep winter. Fortunately in summer, you are out in the open, winter you are closed up. That being said.. they HAVE to be used in an area with ventilation. CO will kill if you are in an air tight tent or room and run one of these without ventilation.
I consider rechargable lights to be 'temporary spot sources". Battery tech currently is not good enough to supply lighting that will last more than a few hours in a very small area and you have to have a significant number of lithium batteries on charge at any time, or run a big multi amp hour battery and a big solar charger to keep it topped off during daylight hours. But..., if you do have access to both solar cells and a big battery.., it is quite doable. But it doesnt pack well and is best consided to be used at a fixed location.
I belive your channel comes out of Canada? US prices are slightly different than Canadian prices as I recall.. Canadian dollar being worth.. 65-75 cents ?, American so one has to use a bit of mental conversion figureing out the price differences. I typically find used Coleman lanterns for 5-10 dollars American, used with stoves about the same. The single most expensive part of these devices is replacement globes (they are pyrex) and mantels. One can buy Coleman mantels or chinese knock offs for very very little money. Ebay of course is great for New Old Stock and chinese globes are...ok but expect them to not survive rough movement.
Oh.. a standard old style NON dual fuel Coleman/et al will burn gasoline quite well, but the generator will fail in a few years, rather than in 20 yrs, so keep that in mind as well if stocking up on spare parts. Burning gasohole will reduce the life span as well, if not emptied when putting them back in storage after use. But you can indeed safely use gasoline of any kind (including skunky gasoline) in any Colman type device. Skunky gas may not provide as clear white a light as a lot of the lighter products have evaporated out of the fuel. But in a pinch.. will work.

@cyrusstark1435 ADT? Snicker.. And which part of the country are we talking about? Western Rural? Eastern Rural? Southern Urban? Northern Suburb? Son.. how old are you? Seems to me you are young enough to ignore just how little you really know and have no interest in learning anything further.
I sold my alarm company after starting and building it for 19 yrs (for a fair amount of money) and going into other fields, I ran a pawn shop for 5 yrs, a time clock company for 5 yrs, and now Im trying to close down my machine tool repair company.. which Ive run for 27 yrs. I went into the military in 1971, then after 3 yrs getting home from my second tour in Vietnam, went to work in the oil fields and worked in 39 states and 9 countries in the next 7 yrs. So I somehow suspect Ive got more work history than you have been alive I got my first paying job at the age of 13 way back in 1966. Worked through high school as a ski instructor, lift operator, fishing guide on the Ausable River, and in my senior year, worked nights on a drilling rig for Cactus Drilling at the age of 17... (they thought I was 19). Upon graduation, went to the local JC for 6 months, said fuggit and went into the Army. 8 yrs on the street in central California as a deputy sheriff and building an alarm company on the side, taught me that I didnt like being a cop, let alone in an agency that was corrupt as hell... And the rest is history. Now when you can match up with that job history.. let me know and Ill pay more attention to your buffoonery. Im fairly well known in some circles here in the West, so feel free to either pound sand or piss off. When you get to be 68 yrs old, we can sit and swap life histories.

@Willijfamily 42 Mass shootings.. Ok Jeri... seems like you share her love of lying. Tsk Tsk Tsk. Or are you her, here, "undercover"? Snicker. I live in California. All my firearms were lost in a boating accident. I decided to take all my guns (well over 3 figures) out to get some sun on one of my sailboats and a freak wave washed them all overboard. Happened 35 miles west of Bakersfield. Damn.. I hate it when that happens. I take it you didnt agree with my engineering analysis of the difficulty of putting a fingerprint reader on a belly gun?
Now.. there are (2) firearms that are projected to have BioId technoligy. Neither are on the market.
Google "Smartgunz LLC" and "Lodestar Firearms". Neither are on the market and Smartgunz hasnt made a peep in 2 yrs. So.. her claim that there are 2.. is again yet another lie.
Im curious Jeri... given that there are 600 MILLION privately owned firearms in the US , what do the two of you propose to do about those? Retrofit them a magic ring? You do know thats how virtually everybody has accomplished a "working" firearm with a personal lock.. right? I was reading about those magnetic rings in 1967, Gosh.. thats well over 50 yrs ago. Do you think that if they got the bugs out of them in 50 yrs.. that they would be on the market today?
Btw.. sports and recreational injuries were (409,224 injuries in 2021), Furthermore, 658 people died as a result of boating accidents and 2,641 people were injured in 2021. How many died in firearms accidents? 430 in 2021, Now shouldnt you be going after boats? They kill 100% more people by accident as do guns. You want me to look up the accidental death numbers for motorcycles, cars and fast food? Id be happy as hell to do so.
Say... have you seen this yet?
https://www.worldlifeexpectancy.com/usa-cause-of-death-by-age-and-gender
Tell me where firearms rank in there. Please.
