  1. Here in the US, my state of Maine, the governor just announced a 30 day quarantine, starting tomorrow, April 2 until the end of April. People going out get jailed for 6 months. You can only go out for groceries or essential work.

  7. Excellent point! Tests = results. Do no tests, and there are no cases. I'd like to take a moment to remind us all that the tests are not showing fully effective, ie, a negative test and demonstrate a positive person the next day

Possibly people like that doctor in New Hampshire, USA, who came back from Italy, and was positive, in quarantine in his house, and then LEFT QUARANTINE for an event and infected the whole party!!!!   19. Myth. Sort of. Based on any other virus, your body builds immunity, and thus will not get the virus again. However, like how we get the flu shots each year, the virus will (probably) morph, and variations of it may cause more strains yearly - but that's something we have yet to find out.

  25. US is not really in lockdown mode at all. Although the president gave the order for citizens to stay home for 15 days, people are still operating as usual, leaving their houses and going shopping, and so on. People really are quite dumb about it. Restaurants and bars are closed, but many non-essential businesses remain open. Example, a paint store a friend works at. Why?

  27. By the way, none of the lock downs, mask wearing, is worth it. I haven't seen my family, friends in almost a year due to my state's incessant lock down. The effect on mental health is MUCH WORSE than ANY "savings" of lives from this "virus" which has effects less than the regular flu. It has broken up my domestic partnership, I now live alone. I have no one to talk to now. Besides myself, suicide rates have gone up dramatically, drug rates and deaths are skyrocketing. Domestic abuse is huge, divorce rates and breakups are much higher. No one can date and kids aren't in school and haven't been in almost a year. Starvation is going to happen worldwide according to the UN, and is already happening in many countries. Businesses are closing all over. Economics are in the toilet. THIS IS NOT WORTH IT!

  28. Older folks are dying in nursing homes alone, and once they die, they can't even have a funeral that loved ones can attend! Since the state doesn't allow gatherings. What a wonderful way to live. Oh yes, this is SO WORTH IT :/

  36. The thing is, the big propaganda in the US right now is "Black Lives Matter" etc. Not that they are vitamin D deficient and THAT is the real reason why they have higher covid rates. When I say propaganda, it means, of course, that media is telling everyone that it is what they should be thinking, instead of everyone thinking for themselves :/ Young people aren't smart enough to figure that out.

  37. From what I understand, the US hasn't really done hundreds of tests. The tests aren't available at all. If a doctor wants a test, they have to go through a big ringamarole to get it, calling the CDC and having to explain why the need it and still maybe not obtaining a test!   40. Dr. John, I believe you are missing what is happening in the US. We are being told to wear masks BUT WE ARE STILL UNDER LOCKDOWN. The promise of wearing the masks doesn't take away the lockdown :( and magically open up the businesses. Oh how I wish that would happen. Some states are lucky enough to be open, but my state has been closed up this whole time!

  42. I feel like Americans, anyways, are treating it with the attitude they treated 9/11 (because I'm old enough to remember that time). The attitude towards terrorism was one of, no one is going to allow us to not act as we normally do! But a pandemic is not terrorism.

  47. All countries need to stop flights to hot areas. I would even suggest stopping international travel while this is all going on. As a former flight attendant, I can guarantee that we are not health care workers in any way and cannot make health care judgements as this article attempts to suggest.
