It's about discipline. Not privilege.

I'm so glad you pointed out the good points of cash: budgeting and spending less money, less debt and so on. I've been doing the Dave Ramsey program and using cash, and it's going great! I'm definitely ANTI-cashless :)

I always pick them up. Anyone throwing away money is an idiot. Our nation is in debt. Imagine someone already up to their neck in debt, throwing away money. How dumb.

@TwoCentsPBS If you felt that way, you wouldn't have done a video with such grossed up tipping amounts!

Undoubtedly the trash guys are getting richer!! My accountant volunteers at the dump! I am not kidding!

Buffet? Where no one serves you? Uh no. ZERO!

Where is the fill in your own amount line? Why does it start at $10 tip for ICE CREAM?????? Ice cream is only $5? lol!

I think it's hilarious that you are a financial minimalist - that about sums it up exactly - you don't have money saved :D lol And you think you somehow need to be responsible for your parents. Why do you believe that? Worry about yourself.

Honestly everything everywhere is just so. much. commercialism. Not just during the holidays. Over in Europe, where they just started "Black Friday", where they didn't have such a concept before, people are protesting against it, saying it promotes excessive commercialism. I agree. It's not just this season. People now use the word, "product", all the time now, which would be a very strange concept even 30 years ago, when that word would have only been used strictly in the workplace of marketing. Now it's a common word being used by consumers. I think that says it all.

Although I think the "coin shortage" is total BS, I experimented and returned my $196 in rolled coins to my bank the other day. My bank didn't care one way or the other. My bank didn't seem to think there was any shortage. I should have kept them :/ I think this whole thing is political and they are going to take away our cash.

@shaynannigans Oh sweetie, so naive. There are many reasons people don't open bank accounts. Men don't do it because of back child support and the IRS, or various state taxes, which would zap that money to zero. Others don't do it because of warrants, tracking them and sending them to jail or prison. And as the video said, some are illegals and can't open an account without proof of citizenship.

0:51 "Helps pay for retirement"? HAHAHAHA!!!! You mean pays for junkies on disability!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I save and roll about $400 a year. People throwing out or disregarding change are incredibly dumb! Keep saving and rolling :)

"literally" how overused.

Let's talk about the real problem of Social Security. People on disability drawing Social Security. People addicted to drugs actually qualify for Social Security disability - for some bizarre reason. There are so many disabled people now - which was NEVER a thing even up to the 80's and 90's, that's the REAL problem.

Unfortunately you didn't mention room attendants/maids in hotels. $5/night is standard.

How does this differ from your plastic money?

Yes, because they are broke.

Weird is a good thing. Watch some Dave Ramsey :)

The issue of pennies isn't really the point.

I just want to know what is going on with that moustache.

How annoying that people do this.

Let me correct the men section, to include of course, the tax part, to include anyone. Sorry about that, overtired.

If you can't make an honest video, maybe you should rethink vocusing on finance.

I think you may need to meditate.

Uh..... You do realize that ATMs aren't the only place to get cash. I can't remember the last time I got cash at an ATM. Typically you keep a local brick and mortar bank (even better a credit union), and keep your deposits going to an online bank and have them linked. Have a checking account at minimum, at both, for free. Then utilize the local brick and mortar to get cash from, with zero fees. This is basic common sense. Lacking in today's society. You can also get cash when getting groceries and just take out extra cash when using a debit card, which I never do, since I pay for groceries with cash.

It's interesting to read all of the Canadians responding to this. By the way, I live 60 miles from the Canadian border so I did visit you all quite often before this ridiculous border closure. Anyway, I think you are missing the point on the penny thing. It's not the idea of not having just pennies. It's not having any coins at all.

Tell me about that thing on your lip. The moustache. Can't take my eyes off it.
