  3. I've daily driven a 2003 Chevy Impala and I believe including oil changes, I've put 3 grand into it since I bought it in 2007. It's well maintained, it's getting up miles, this year it did cost a little more and it's getting toward retirement age, but reliability and lowest cost to maintain over the years for me has been that car. It is the 9C3 police model so it has a heavy duty transmission, suspension, brakes (have replaced brakes and suspension). It's a work horse.
