That sounds good until you understand it would cause an economic depression. I dont think people understand about how much of the yearly budget goes to direct payments to people and businesses. Cut those off, and a depression begins. I mean the cuts to SSI alone would do that. When you cut Medicare and Medicaid there would be armys of doctors and nurses who would lose everything overnight. There isnt a way out of this anymore. You either shut it all down or you let it shake apart and explode.

@Matsonman what happens when walmart makes 5% less? What happens when everyone on social welfare, including SSI gets 5% less. What happens when doctors get 5% less from Medicare and Medicaid. 5% is huge. What happens when you cant only pay 95% of your mortgage or 95% of your electrical bill? The system breaks. Ive been deployed to nations that were like that. Neighbor murders neighbor just so they can have a meal for that day.
