@justinj3340 You just said why this is occurring. Governmental debt makes living more expensive. But people dont want to give up the programs that cause the debt. So things will slowly get worse until you enter a death spiral where you no longer can support your nations social welfare system then you hit catastrophic collapse. At that point things restart. The problem is that this is the first time its hitting all nations at the same time. There are only 12 nations with a population fertility rate significantly about 2.1. 10 of them are in Africa and none of them are self sufficient.

@darthvader5300 I am not sure why you re posting that to me. We are in agreement. With the exception of your numbers. The fertility rate in the US in 1950 was 3.1 per woman in 1950. It peaked in 1955 at about 3.5. Did you post to the wrong person?
