Well at some point, if your arent just going to run at a your enemy in a suicide charge, yea you have to surrender. No ammo, no food, no water. It happens when you get surrounded and have no supply.

@joniceferguson4863 Respectfully, the Azov battalion was full of them. But pretty much all of them are dead now. The new people arent supposedly like that. Just more locals that filled in the ranks after the general mobilization. The hard part to understand that with all the photo evidence of these guys with their flags and tats is that people still say its fake. I mean there is video footage going back through the years to 2014.

That was a common thing during the Soviet Union. Their ships were always on the verge of catching fire. I am being serious here. Their fire suppression systems are not on par with the US. Apparently their anti ship missile weapons system arent on par with the US either.

@kenharvey8161 I dont really believe much of anything coming out of that part of the world. There is so much propaganda from all parties involved if you step in it you are going to get so stuck you will never get out. Thats how the US gets involved in multi decade conflicts. Hopefully they come to the table and hammer something out. But that seems more and more unlikely.

@wharfrat9489 Generally speaking, Germany POW camps had some of the highest survival rates if you werent from one of the "untermenschen" groups. That didnt mean they were hotels. But they generally treated the British and American POWs as well as they could, German POW camps actually had a higher survival rate than British camps. If you were a Russian POW though, they basically left you to starve. I am not sure if that was policy or if they just couldnt get enough supplies east to feed everyone. Was your great uncle from one of those groups?

@LEGIONARIO1970 I'd not question the courage of anyone, regardless of the side they fight for over. How many battles have you fought? How many times have you risked the only truly valuable thing any of us have? From the way you talk, well it shows more about you than it does about them.

Now Im not for the government picking winners and losers. The question is why do people feel the need to take a side in a war happening half the world away? Most Americans couldnt even point to Ukraine on a map. This is a European problem, let them sort it out.

@hamdiben8163 Soldiers follow orders. If you are ordered to surrender you do so. Typically when officers would order a surrender they would shoot themselves or fall on their sword. The shame was theirs, not their men or in this case men and women.

Rico Thampaty So then they are not military, they have no command structure? Really? If thats the case the Russians can line them up and shoot them as partisans under the Conventions. But I am going to guess that the Russians probably have a better assessment than you do.

@hamdiben8163 Ive fought on three continents. Anyone, including those women that were being processed, who fought, arent cowards. If you are ordered to surrender you must surrender. If you dont you violate the Geneva Conventions. You then stop being military and become what is know as a partisan. Partisans have no rights as soldiers or prisoners. Which means you are a pile of meat in a mass grave. I know you mean well. But you are living vicariously through men and women who have done what they can. How many battles have you fought? The fact that you can even use the word coward to people who fought speaks to your immaturity on this matter.
