  1. You stumbled on something. What happens to the age of grandparents when the reproductive window shifts from 20-22 years old to 28-35 years old? Those grandparents largely are unable to help. They have gone from being late 40s early 50s to late 60s early 70s, if not older. Over the last few generations, womens reproductive period has shifted away from younger to older. This also limits the number of children a woman can have. Then add the discernment of families in modern times. Many lack extended family near them to assist.
