You are very correct. I have always said that history will look back on this period and see both the original event in 08 and whatever endpoint we are sprinting to as a single event. All we did is paper over it with government backed debt and zero percent interest rates. We never addressed the fundamental structural problems.

Technically a depression is what they use to call recessions. But because of the "Great Depression" they decided to make a new term, recession. Saying depression triggered way to many people who had been traumatized from the previous 15 years of hell.

@cqbguy851 Its not true. For most of the time before WWII, homes were depreciating assets.

@ArtisChronicles I mean that is the case in nominal dollars. But if you look at it in real dollars, it changes the picture. But most folks dont know the difference between real and nominal dollars. That said, my main point was to correct the individual who said home prices have had double digit increases, or whatever he wrote, every year for the last 100 years. Thats just false. But I dont think its funny. Thats what happens when you endlessly print currency and your nations GDP is 40% government spending. Shit gets weird. But that also will me the down side will be equally as massive. A lot of folks get hurt that way too.

@TheSuperappelflap yes and enough people believed in hope and change to not believe their lying eyes. Obama was always a corporatist. He was pretty much owned from day one.

Even suburbs are going to burn. The only folks who are going to be ok are people with land who can at least grow what they need to live. I mean you have HOAs who are preventing people from growing food. Moronic.
