France doesnt even allow for paternity testing. Its considered assault against the mother if a man does it and is a crime. Marriage is the least of Frances concerns right now.

@aleidius192 Thats not the problem. The risks are to high. Women can nuke a relationship, a life, and your entire economic future with a single word. Will most women do that, no they wont. But even if 5% would, would you get on a plane if it had a 5% chance of ruining your life? No you wouldnt. Young men have seen several generations and heard about it from family and friends. Its not like this is a new thing. Heck in 1979 Kramer vs Kramer came out, every man should watch that movie. This is a woman problem. Women need to fix it.

Women chose when to have children. The problem is that modernity and feminism in particular have made it a policy to make men less appealing as mates because incomes are equal or near equal, especially in some ones 20s. Until policies are put in place to make men more attractive as partners and mates, fertility rates will not improve. but this would require the wholesale rejection of feminism which will not happen until societies collapse, including those power structures that hold up and promote feminism. Its not like this hasnt happened before. This will self correct, but not before a lot of people suffer and die. But that is the price of wisdom.

@SandymoorFerrariClub Women have all their gametes when they are born. The environment effects them so the older a woman has, depending on her lifestyle, the more genetic damage will be done to them. Men make all their gametes on the go, so to speak. Environmental damages typically will harm a certain batch but only that batch, but germline alterations require heavy exposure to mutagenic compounds. Comparing men and women in this instance is literally comparing apples to oranges.

The majority of young males cannot attract a female partner because of a lack of opportunity. That is a direct consequence of decades of pro female preferences in every aspect of the western world. If females do not find a male able to support her and any and all offspring she has he is simply a liability and to be passed over. People are looking at this completely wrong. Just like they have every other time its happened in history. Bring your baby to the office, how does that work with physicians or nurses? I dont think you guys have fully thought out your positions. What about women who work with heavy equipment or on production lines? Not everyone has a white collar job at a desk typing on a keyboard. And if AI has its way, even fewer will in the future.

@fanOmry and as others have pointed out. neither of the two studies that were done on that controlled for the age of the mother. But I get it. You have a hill you want to die on.

@IlluminaZero But thats not what is causing the birth collapse. Is it a contributing factor, yes. But its not the main cause. The main cause is that men are not as attractive to women relatively speaking because since the 70s laws have been enacted that make pay differentials criminal. If you want women to chose to have children, they must have men they view are good enough to mate with AND support them and all their children. Feminism is diametrically opposed to this. And its not going to go away until those government structures that force that compliance falls away. The welfare is just another straw on an already broken camels back.
2
@IlluminaZero I would agree with you here. Ultimately it is a self correcting problem though.

@fanOmry You realize I always did right? You didnt mean to post to me, I think. But you are to busy trying to be right. Maybe go re read the thread, if you have any time.

@phipsdeus2 its not feminism itself is the problem, its the absolute focus on equity. Women in relationships dont want equal male partners, they want men better than them. This is the crux of the problem. Feminism kills what women ultimately want when they want to make a family. Its one of the reasons feminism, in my estimation, pushed women to work. Not because they needed to or they themselves wanted to, but that by the time these women understood what they actually wanted, it would be to late. Women in their 20s making families is what feminism kills. Its school, university, career, then slamming into 30 and freaking out that they need to have kids. So they grab the first guy that they think is suitable but arent really happy and then the marriage implodes and the kids see what happens to dad and that next generations of boys is just that much more bitter.

The robbing of the youth to pay for the elderly is certainly an issue, but it isnt the main one in this instance.
