  1. The Torah being given is very similar to the way Enki orders civilization in the Sumerian work, "Enki and the World order". And seeing how Genesis is simply a retelling of the Sumerian creation myth, Eridu Genesis (Enki was the city of Eridu's patron deity), I would guess its another story taken by Abraham, who himself was a Sumerian, to the Syria, the Levant and Egypt. I also wonder if Abraham coming from Ur was a latter change as Ur became the more important city over Eridu? Another attempt to take from another culture, like we see so many places, to validate ones position and claim to a mandate from God or heaven.
