Your speculative fiction is almost identical to what the Yamnaya did 4000 years ago. They were the technologically superior people of their time. During their tribal coming of age ceremonies the young men underwent a ceremony and were then ejected from the tribe for a time. These young men would have to survive and upon their return would become members of the tribe. The Yamnaya that went West, and their decendant cultures, took over all of Europe wiping out almost all the Y Chromosomes from the European Hunter Gatherers and the Farmers that came from Anatolia. They took their women though. The Yamnaya that went to the East became the Iranic and Hindic peoples, as well as the Tocharians in modern China. All those peoples wiped out anyone they came into contact with. I think you over estimate how peaceful future groups will be. If you breed out aggression, those populations will fall.

@AprezaRenaldy You may want to familiarize yourself with the New Madrid Earthquake in 1812. If it occurred today about 8 million people in the Mississippi flood plain would die. Chicago would have significant damage. Cities like Nashville, Memphis and St Louis would be destroyed. Most people are completely ignorant about it. It even just had an Earthquake on July 27 of this year. Before that earthquake people didnt even know there was a fault there. There are a lot of places like that in the US. And when they pop, that will be the first notice.

@AprezaRenaldy imagine whole cities built without earthquake codes. Things seem stupid or fanciful until they happen. Then the finger pointing and hand wringing begins.
